Forty-five years together – by Kit

I don’t usually post on our anniversary. But this week we are celebrating 45th years. That’s a pretty big number. I could tell you how Drew is perfect for me and well, I am perfect for him. But instead I want to share what might be the best kept secret of marriage, that shouldn’t be a secret.

Marriage gets sweeter over the years. Of course there is a condition for that to happen. You have to invest in your marriage.

Right now, when you are raising your children, have challenges at work, and frankly often just don’t want to.

Right now, when your children have left and you are at a bit of a loss finding new ways to live, and frankly often you just don’t want to.

Right now, when you are retired and have more doctor appointments on your schedule than anything else, and frankly often just don’t want to.

However, as the years go by, if you make the choice to forgive, to learn to communicate more deeply, and to always prioritize each other you will realize the reward has been worth the effort.

On we go to our 50th.

Kit
